McCLURE, Ill. The former Hideaway, located just south of the Highway 3 and Route 146 intersection, has changed its name and operation.
Manager Sheila Schearf said the entertainment spot, now the Country Bumpkin, has changed from rock and roll music to country and western music.
"We will be offering free country and western dance classes 7:30 to 9 Thursday nights with the Hi Cotton Dance Club," she said. "We have added a second dance floor, feature country decor and have live country and western music three nights a week Thursday through Saturday. The bands are from Southern Illinois and Southeast Missouri." The live entertainment is scheduled 9:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Schearf said a country and western clothing store will be added. A mechanical bull may also be added.
