New McKendree United Methodist Church is hoping to start a new tradition for the new millennium.

The church is having a free concert today, entitled "An Evening of Musical Praise." Several members of the church choir will be performing different styles of Christian music, ranging from southern gospel to contemporary.

This group of signers will include soloists, duets, a trio and a quartet. Choir member performing are George Cosby, Terry Tuschoff, Tom Martin, Terry Burress, Julie Walker, Kathleen Rice, Carla Eads, Ruth Masterson, Kathy Haas, Wayne Johnson and Linda Thompson, pianist.

The concert will be held at 7 p.m. in the New McKendree sanctuary. It is free to the public.
