Kathleen A. Brown will become manager of the Procter & Gamble Paper Products Co. plant at Cape Girardeau.

Brown, who has served as an operations group manager at the plant here since 1991, joined P&G in 1978 at the Augusta, Ga. plant, following graduation from the University of Florida. She received a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from Florida.

She held various positions of increasing responsibility at August and the Frostproof, Fla., plant before being transferred to the Cape Girardeau plant in 1991 as operations group manager of the Always brand.

She became operations group manager for diapers last year.

Brown's appointment will become effective Aug. 1.

Brown has become active in a number of activities since moving to Cape Girardeau. She is active as a Girl Scout troop Leader and in the CAYSA soccer program.

She and her husband, Rick, have two daughters, Sarah and Laura.

Joseph E. Doner, who has been manager of the local plant since 1993, has been promoted to director of special assignment of product supply, tissue and towers, at Cincinnati. He and his family will be relocating to Cincinnati.

Doner joined the company in 1978 at the Cape Girardeau plant, following graduation from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He held positions at P&G plants in Georgia, Ohio and Kansas City prior to returning to Cape Girardeau.

Brown is the sixth manager and the first woman manager of the P&G complex, which includes 30 acres under roof 15 miles north of Cape Girardeau. Previous managers have been J.R. Miller, James Bowman, Robert E. Empie, Phillip W. Larson and Doner.
