NEW JEWELRY AND PAWN SHOP OPERATION OPENS

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- A new jewelry and pawn shop operations has opened in Plaza Shopping Center.

Shawn and Karen Mitchell opened Cape Jewelry and Pawn Monday at 47 Plaza Way.

"We'll be making loans on almost anything of value," said Mitchell. "That includes televisions, VCRs, stereos, cameras, and other items."

The new operation will be open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

"This is something new for us," said Mitchell. "We were previously in the whirlpool bath tub business."

The Mitchells moved here from Springfield.

Mrs. Mitchell is a native of Bloomfield, and Shawn Mitchell is from Texas.
