Don Alwine of St. Louis, special projects officer with the U.S. Coast Guard, St. Louis District, will be guest speaker during a meeting of the SEMO Slabbers tonight.

Alwine will discuss a new fishing boat regulation and boating safety at the 7:30 p.m. session, co-sponsored by the Slabbers and Missouri Department of Conservation. The meeting will be held at the DOC's regional headquarters building in North County Park.

"The meeting is open to anyone," said Roger Koehler, president of the Slabbers.

The new fishing boat regulation requires a sticker on any fishing boat 16 feet or longer that is used in a body of water patrolled by the Coast Guard.
