David Braden of McLeansboro, Ill., has joined the firm of Schott & Van de Ven, Certified Public Accountants, as a junior accountant.

Braden, a 1987 graduate of McLeansboro High School, attended Southern Illinois Uni~versity-Carbondale, where he received his bachelor's degree from the School of Accountancy. While attending SIU, he was a member of the Accounting Society.

Schott & Van de Ven, headquartered at Cape Girardeau, has offices at Marion, Ill., and Marble Hill, Mo.

Larry J. Hamm has joined First Financial Bank of Southeast Missouri as assistant vice president managing the Scott City facility.

Joe W. Gooch, president and chief executive officer of the bank, announced Hamm's appointment.

Hamm has 28 years of banking experience, including 20 years with Centerre Bank of Cape Girardeau and eight years with First Exchange Bank of Cape Girardeau.

He is a member of the Scott County Pork Producers, Farm Bureau, St. Lawrence Men's Club, Knights of Columbus, Chaffee Elks, Breakfast Exchange Club and the SEMO District Fair Committee.

Larry, his wife, Paulette, and family live on a farm near New Hamburg.

Cheryl Ketelsen of Cape Girardeau has joined Capital Bank of Cape Girardeau as a real estate representative.

Ketelsen's responsibilities will include real estate loan originations and working with area home buyers, realtors and builders to provide a full range of banking services.

She is a graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in human resources. Prior to joining Capital Bank, she was a real estate loan closer for the Charles F. Curry Co. of Kansas City.

Ketelsen's office will be located at 101 W. Main in Jackson. Ketelsen and her husband, Steve, reside in Cape Girardeau.

Capital Bank is an affiliate of Capital Bancorporation, Inc., a publicly traded, multi-bank holding company headquartered in Cape Girardeau, which operates five affiliate banks in 17 locations in Missouri.

Dean E. Cowan, a 1992 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, has accepted the position of assistant executive secretary at the international headquarters of Sigma Chi Fraternity at Evanston, Ill.

While at Southeast Missouri State University, he was selected as the university's Homecoming Man of the Year in 1991; Outstanding Greek Man of the Year in 1992 and Epsilon Phi's Sigma Chi of the Year for 1991-92.

In his new position, Cowan will visit Sigma Chi chapters in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Kentucky, Southern Indiana and Southern Texas.

Danita Collier Chipman of Cape Girardeau has joined Destinations Unlimited Travel Agency, 121 S. Broadview, as a travel specialist.

Chipman previously worked for TWA in St. Louis and Reppert Travel Agency in Cape Girardeau.

She has more than eight years experience in booking, corporate travel, groups, and meetings.
