The new slides at Cape Splash will open to the public at 11 a.m. Thursday, according to announcement by the city of Cape Girardeau.
The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department also will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony before the park opens that day at 9:30 a.m. to mark the completion of two new speed slides and a three-lane mat racer. The new additions include a 265-foot-long free-fall slide, 259-foot-long triple-drop slide and a three-Lane 319-foot-long mat racer with 30-foot tower. Riders must be 42 inches tall to ride the mat racer and 48 inches tall to ride the speed slides.
