By Friday afternoon, MoDOT hopes to have traffic flowing over the new bridge on the northbound side of Interstate 55 at the East Main Street/LaSalle Avenue interchange.

An exact time for shifting traffic onto the new bridge hasn't yet been determined.

Traffic on the northbound side has been diverted to a bypass while construction work was underway. MoDOT says the return of four-lane traffic in the construction area doesn't mean the project is finished, as striping, signing, lighting and other finishing work are ongoing. More lane reductions will be needed as work continues.
