A new administrator has been named for the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
John B. Angelle Jr., who has more than 15 years experience in health care management and is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, will start his new duties Dec. 1.
Angelle will be the third administrator of the facility, following Desma Reno who served in that capacity more than 14 months, since Aug. 5, 1991. Terry Ford, who resigned in June 1991, was the first administrator of the 150-bed facility, which was completed in June 1990 at a cost of $8.2 million.
Reno resigned her position more than a month ago.
Tim Norton, capital improvements coordinator for the Missouri Veterans Commission, is serving as interim administrator.
"I have an administrator's license," said Norton. "Reno left in October, so I agreed to fill in until Dec. 1."
Angelle previously served as director of purchasing and special projects for Health Facilities Management Corp. in Sikeston.
He completed his undergraduate studies at Columbia College in Columbia and holds a graduate degree from Webster University in St. Louis. He served in the Air Force and is a Vietnam veteran.
Angelle is a member of the American College of Health Care Administrators, Disabled American Veterans and Knights of Columbus.
Angelle, his wife, Janet, and two sons, John and Jordan, currently reside in Sikeston.
