A production of the Neil Simon farce "Rumors" will open Nov. 4 at Southeast Missouri State University.

The play will be presented Nov. 4, 5, 9, 10, 11 and 12 in Rose Theatre. Interpretation for the hearing impaired will be provided by Valerie Kline during the Nov. 11 performance.

"Rumors" initially was produced at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego and opened on Broadway in 1988.

The plot involves guests who arrive for an anniversary party at a posh address only to discover that the host apparently has shot himself and the hostess is missing. Confusion ensues.

Tickets go on sale Monday and are $3 for students, faculty, staff and senior citizens, $5 for non-students and $2 for children under 12.

Dennis Seyer, associate professor of theater and designer and technical director for the University Theatre, will direct. His past directorial efforts include "Very Good Eddie," The Fantasticks" and "Jerry's Girls."
