Sikeston, Mo., native Neal E. Boyd will find out tonight if he's the winner of the $1 million prize on NBC's "America's Got Talent."
Boyd, an opera singer, is one of five finalists who performed last Wednesday on the popular NBC show. The tenor sang Puccini's "Nessun Dorma," the same aria he performed on the first show of the season, when all three judges declared him the competition's immediate front-runner.
Tonight the winner will be announced, based on audience votes cast in the hours following last week's show.
Other acts in the finals include: Nuttin But Stringz, the violin duo of Damien and Tourie Escobar, brothers from New York; Eli Mattson, a pianist and singer, born in Duluth, Minn., and raised in Wisconsin; singer Donald Braswell of Boerne, Texas, whose focus is musical theater; and soul singer Queen Emily from Stockton, Calif.
"America's Got Talent" starts at 8 p.m.
