David D. Hodge, a 16-year employee of NationsBank, has been named regional executive of NationsBank's Southeast Missouri-Illinois region.
Hodge, most recently a regional executive in Charlottesville, Va., will begin in Cape Girardeau Monday.
"Hodge brings with him a depth of banking experience to serve the complex financial needs of our customers," said W. Curtis Graff, who made the announcement Monday.
Graff, president of NationsBank Missouri-Illinois Community Bank, has been filling in as interim regional executive. He said, "Hodge is a proven leader with a deep commitment to the community he serves."
Hodge has been with NationsBank his entire banking career. He has served on the executive committee of Charlottesville and Albemarle County Chamber of Commerce, and was a member of the Governor's Regional Economic Development Council, Thomas Jefferson Economic Development Partnership, and the Virginia Institute of Political Leadership. He also was vice chairman of the Thomas Jefferson Area United Way campaign.
In Cape Girardeau, Hodge succeeds James P. Limbaugh, who resigned July 31, about a month after Farmers and Merchants Bank officially became NationsBank.
"I look forward to moving to Cape Girardeau and becoming actively involved in the community," said Hodge. "I look forward to joining the excellent banking team assembled throughout the region."
The senior management and lending teams for the Cape Girardeau and Jackson markets will remain the same, along with the Cape Girardeau County NationsBank Board of Directors, said Hodge. The local directors are Al Spradling, Ed Kiefner, Charles Hutson, Jerry Zimmer, Mike Kohlfeld, Dr. Ray Ritter Jr., Dr. Mike Bennett, J. Ronald Fischer, Dennis Marchi, Jerry Lorberg and Gene Huckstep.
Hodge, a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in business administration, joined NNCNB National Bank of North Carolina -- a NationsBank predecessor -- in 1981. He has served in a number of positions with NationsBank, including commercial banking manager, special-asset bank regional manager, residential mortgage credit policy executive, and most recently regional executive.
