A combination of strong winds, low humidity and warm temperatures have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a "Red Flag Warning" for much of Missouri.
Conditions are conducive for the rapid spread of uncontrolled wild fires.
The warning is in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.
People are asked not to conduct outdoor burning during red-flag conditions. People should check with local fire departments regarding burn bans that may be in place.
