  • 1992: Co-chaired College Republicans at Southeast Missouri State University at age 18. Told a Southeast Missourian reporter he had been a Republican since he was 8 years old. Was a member of the debate team at Southeast.
  • 1993: Interned in the office of state Sen. Peter Kinder, R-Cape Girardeau. Served as coordinator for the "Kinder for Senate' campaign.
  • 1994: Chaired the Missouri College Republicans.
  • 1995: Helped found the Conservative Club at Southeast.
  • 1996: Graduated from Southeast with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
  • 1999: Earned a law degree from St. Louis University.
  • 2000: Joined the Lichtenegger law firm in Jackson, specializing in immigration and naturalization cases.
  • Aug. 3, 2004: Wins Republican primary to represent 158th District in the Missouri House. Defeats two opponents.
  • Sept. 30, 2004: Forms Retail Trucking LLC and Speedy Express LLC, the two businesses named as shams in the federal charges.
  • Nov. 2, 2004: Elected to the Missouri House for the 158th District without opposition.
  • Summer 2006: Served on a special Missouri House committee on immigration reform. Was quoted as saying in advance of a July hearing in Cape Girardeau, "We need to protect the honesty and integrity of our laws within the immigration system."
  • Nov. 7, 2006: Re-elected to the House, winning 62 percent of the votes cast.
  • Aug. 7, 2007: Terminates re-election committee; transfers $65,792 on hand to new committee called "Friends of the 158th."
  • Aug. 9, 2007: Pleaded guilty to federal immigration fraud charges -- one felony count of visa fraud and one felony count of making false statements to the U.S. Department of Labor. Announced he will resign from the legislature.
