New CASA director named

CASA of Southeast Missouri, Inc. welcomes new Executive Director, Revonda A. Kirby. Revonda and her family, husband, Bryan and children, Jessica, Dustin and Rebecca, relocated to the Cape Girardeau area in April of 2006. Most recently, Revonda was the Family Resource Center Coordinator for the New Madrid County Human Resources Council Community Partnership in New Madrid, Mo. She received her J.D. from the University of Mississippi in 1994 and graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1991 with a B.S. in Political Science and Economics.

Missey joins realty firm

Realty Executives of Cape County added one new salesperson and announced that another has received a designation noting advanced training. Steve Missey of Cape Girardeau, who has lived in the area for about 20 years, has been working in real estate since March and brings his new license to the firm.

Harris named para vice president of MOA

Cherie Harris, an 11-year employee of Leet Eye Care in Cape Girardeau has been named the Missouri Optometric Association’s para-vice president. Harris is a certified national contact lens examiner and a certified paraoptometric assistant. Harris is Southeast Missouri’s trustee on the association’s paraoptometric board. Paraoptometrics assist optometrists in the delivery of eye care services.

Volkerding is Woodmen agent of the month

Ken Volkerding of Jackson, a district representative with Modern Woodmen of America, was agent of the month in the Allen Phillips’ District for August. Volkerding has been with Modern Woodmen since November 2004.

Top producer recognized

Rick C. Schultz of Jackson recently attended Maintenance Engineering’s National Awards Banquet in Fargo, N.D. Shultz finished No. 13 in the national field sales force and received the fourth diamond in his M.E. gold ring for sales exceeding $1.5 million while a fourth diamond was placed in his M.E. gold watch for quarterly growth. Shultz retained his position in the Vice Presidents Club, which represents the top 20 sales representatives of the company, for the eighth consecutive year. Also he received travel vouchers for his family to take a personal vacation. For reaching the gold sales level, he was presented the Top Producer black M.E. blazer. Shultz has been with the company for over 10 years and serves the tri-state area, which includes southeast Missouri, as a regional manager. He is married to the former Jan Gotto, originally of Perryville. They have two children and one granddaughter.

Officers elected

FARMINGTON, Mo. â€" A new slate of officers is now in charge at the Farmington Downtown Development Association: Haley Pirtle, President; Marcia Pease, vice president; Greg Shinn, treasurer, and Mary McEntire, secretary.

Fish completes class

Kathi Fish was awarded the designation of graduate, Realtor Institute, for successfully completing 90 hours of class work outlined by the National Association of Realtors.

Realty Executives welcomes Duffy

Realty Executives of Cape County announced the addition of Debbie Duffy to their staff. A licensed salesperson since 2004, Duffy moved from Century 21 Heartland to work as the assistant to Sheila King. Duffy is originally from Green Bay, Wisc., and has lived in Jackson for nine years.

Employees of the month named

KENNETT, Mo. â€" American Railcar Industries at Kennett has named Harry Gaddis and Brandon McKuin as Safety Employees of the month, and John Brennan and Garon Trawick as Employees of the Month.

Specialist of the year announced

KENNETT, Mo. â€" Jason Mayer an AgriGold Corn Specialist has been awarded AgriGold’s Regional Corn Specialist of the Year for Missouri. Mayer has been a specialist in Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas for two years. The Regional Corn Specialist of the Year award is based on such criteria as outstanding sales ability overall sales performance, leadership skills and attitude. His success comes form his understanding and execution of the concept of hard work and managing the sales growth on a loyal, large customer base.

Branch manager named

DEXTER, Mo. â€" Dana Adams has been named branch manager of Montgomery Bank’s Dexter location. Adams has been with the bank since 2006. She has 13 years lending and financial experience. She and her husband Travis have two daughters.

Truck dealer recognizes workers

Wiethop Truck Sales, 2350 Independence St., recently announced several employee recognition awards. The company has been in business as a dealer in International trucks in Cape Girardeau for 53 years. The employees recognized include Bill Gosche for 35 years as president and general manager, Dan Becker for 30 years in the trailer parts department, Tim Huey for 30 years as a trailer technician and Jim Sutton for 20 years as a trailer technician.

Financial adviser earns spot in Patriot Club

DEXTER, Mo. â€" Investment adviser Mike Bagby, owner of Bagby Investment Consultants, was recognized as a member of the Linsco/Private Ledger Patriot Club during the company’s 2007 National Conference in Boston. Achieving the honor means Bagby is in the top 9 percent of the company’s 10,000 investment professionals.

Financial advisor completes coursework

DEXTER, Mo. â€" Rhonda G. Hall of Bagby Investments completed the Registered Paraplanner professional designation program from the College of Financial Planning in Denver, Colo. Hall has been a financial advisor assistant to Mike Bagby for the past 12 months. She is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, with a master of business administration, and a 35-year resident of Dexter. Hall is working to complete her studies in financial planning as she seeks to obtain certification from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.

UPS honors local driver for years of service

UPS honored driver Richard Wright for 35 years of service to the company. Wright, of Scott City, is a feeder driver for UPS St. Louis. He began his career with UPS in 1972 as a clerk for the company.

Heise, Lowes honored at state meeting

Two area lawyers won recognition during the Missouri Bar’s annual meeting in Springfield. Sarah E. Heise of Cape Girardeau was honored as part of the 14-member Online Legal Research Task Force, which won the President’s Award. And long-time fixture on the area legal scene Albert C. Lowes was honored as a “Senior Counselor,†a title given to attorneys who have reached age 75 or who have been members of the bar for 50 years.

Farmer receives Award

The Advertising Speciality Institute gave its Women of Distinction Award to Mary Ann Farmer, president and chief executive officer of Magna-Tel, the Cape Girardeau supplier of promotional items ranging from magnetic calendars and car decorations to yard signs and MP3 player covers. The award was presented at the Counselor Awards ceremony hosted by ASI in July in Chicago. The award is given to a woman who shows top skills in leadership, creativity, and overall impact on the promotional products industry. Farmer is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and has been employed with Magna-Tel since 1984.

The Bank of Missouri appoints new directors

PERRYVILLE, Mo. â€" David Crader, CEO of The Bank of Missouri recently announced the addition of Bonnie Schnurbusch and Brian Dreyer to the bank’s board of directors. Bonnie and Brian will join David Crader, Karl Klaus, Jim Maurer, Frank Robinson, Jim Hillin, Skip Lottes, Bill Phillips, Jr. and Sonny Romann who currently serve as board members.

Bonnie is the Administrator of Perry County Nursing Home and Independent Health Systems in Perryville. Her professional experience includes nursing home experience with both for profit, and not-for-profit establishments, accounting, finance, construction and budgeting knowledge and her ability to manage the operations of a multi-million dollar business.

Brian is the Owner of Dreyer Electric in Frohna.

He is an active community member sitting on the Perry County Nursing Home board, Perryville Development Corporation board and Immanuel Lutheran Church board. He is also a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Perryville Pirate Athletic Club and Independent Electrical Contractors of Southeast Missouri. Brian spends much of his free time as a volunteer coach for city soccer, softball and baseball teams as well as spending time with his family.

Resident earns award for month

SIKESTON, Mo. â€" Molly Daughhettee was chosen by Sikeston Health Care as the August employee of the month.

Daughhetee has been employed as a licensed practical nurse with Sikeston Health Care for two years. A resident of Morehouse, she had her husband, Dee, have three children. She enjoys family activities, riding motorcycles, floating the river and cookouts.

Jacobson honored for achievements

Shanna Jacobson of Jackson was honored by lia sophia jewelry for her achievements as part of its Excellent Beginnings Program Achievers by meeting sales goals and enlisting new sales advisors.

Company promotes Helle to a top position

BeautiControl announced the promotion of Leslie Helle of Cape Girardeau to independent director, a top position in its field organization. The promotion recognizes achievements in sales, team building and leadership, the in-home beauty products sales company said in a prepared statement.

Encom Names employee of the month

Michelle Hubbard is the first shift winner of the August Employee of the Month at Encom Technologies in Dexter. She is a 19-year veteran of the plant and works as a tow motor driver in the muffler department.

Three achieve AST degrees at firm

Wm. Nobbe & Co. in Jackson announced that three employees, Chris Vetter, John Kielhafner and Kevin Sticht have achieved their Advanced Service Technician degrees, which requires completion of 64 hours of class work in core mechanics and 64 hours of class work in product applications to support the service of John Deere products.

Employee chosen for recognition

SIKESTON, Mo. â€" Wade Matthews was chosen by fellow co-workers of Bootheel Counseling Services as the Employee of the Quarter recipient for the third quarter.

Matthews has been with the agency for 3 1/2 years as an adult community support worker and works in the Stoddard County branch office located in Bloomfield. Matthews resides in Bloomfield with wife Terri and sons, Nathaniel and Kyle.
