MUSIC TEACHER HONORED

Dorothy Ashbaugh, a Sikeston piano teacher, was honored recently in Cape Girardeau by the Southeast Area Music Teachers Association for her dedication and service to the music profession.

Ashbaugh, a piano teacher for more than 35 years, has served as chairperson for the Sikeston Federation Music Festival 25 years, and established the Allegro Music Club in Sikeston in 1981. The club now has more than 50 members.

She is a member of the Music Teachers National Association, and is state chairperson for composition of the Federated Music Club.
