The music department at Southeast Missouri State University on Tuesday will present a program of orchestral and choral works under the combined forces of the University Choir, Orchestra and Choral Union.
The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Academic Auditorium.
Compositions to be performed include two works by Vivaldi: the "Gloria," to be performed by the three music groups, and the "Concerto Grosso in A Minor" for string orchestra.
Additional orchestral works by English composers William Boyce (1710-1779) and Peter Warlock (1894-1930) also will be featured.
The University Orchestra is directed by Dr. Sara Edgerton. The University Choir and the Choral Union are directed by Dr. John B. Egbert, who will conduct the "Gloria."
Soloists in the "Gloria" are sopranos Donna Smith, Karen Finn and Cary Nall, and altos Julie Prance and Tamara Brannon. Soloists for the "Concert Grosso" are violinists Donna Bess and Dylan Dunavan.
The Choral Union is open to all community and church choir singers and to university students, faculty and staff.
Choral Union rehearsals are scheduled for Tuesdays at 7 p.m.
