For parents looking for fun, educational activities for their children over the summer months, Don and Janet Presson have a series of programs for kids of almost any age.
Their programs include:
Cinderella: A music drama for children. The students will learn singing, dancing, acting, staging, scenery painting, stage presence and stage production. There are two production dates to choose from: June 8-25 or June 29-July 16. Performances will be June 25 and July 16 at 7 p.m.
Blast Off with Piano: A six week "quickie" course designed to create enthusiasm for piano study. The intent of the course is to introduce the fundamentals of music, including keyboard and rhythm basics, before they begin studying in a "regular" piano course.
Beginnings: Parents with children between the ages of 18 months and three years old meet with a teacher to explore and discover music. Children are urged to sing, move, listen and to play simple instruments.
Keyboards/Piano: Group piano lessons for musicians ages 5-adults, using electronic keyboards, fun sheets and music games.
Kindermusik: Designed for children ages 3-5, classes include listening, vocal development, movement, ensemble work, playing a variety of instruments including the glockenspiel, ear training and musical games.
Voice lessons: Beginning and advanced students learn correct techniques in breath support, tone and vowel production and performance skills. Classes are geared toward the student's desires and ambitions.
