Jessie Bell was sentenced Wednesday to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for domestic battery.
Bell, 36, of Anna, Illinois, originally was arrested on the charge in February 2014.
The sentence will run consecutively to the 20-year sentence Bell received for second-degree murder.
Bell was sentenced Aug. 4 to 20 years in the beating death of Jimmy Morrison. He was convicted May 19.
According to court documents, Bell, with help from 26-year-old Travis Turner of Dongola, Illinois, hit Morrison in the head with a piece of lumber. Turner pleaded guilty to the crime Aug. 11.
