MUNY BAND TO FEATURE VOCALISTS

Wednesday night's Cape Girardeau Municipal Band concert will feature vocalists Don Presson and Jackie Smith.

The free concert begins at 8 p.m. at the Capaha Park band shell.

Presson will sing several contemporary Christian and gospel songs. Smith will join him for one selection.

The celebrity guest conductor for the program is Kala Stroup, president of Southeast Missouri State University. She will conduct "Officer of the Day March."

The concert will be under the baton of assistant conductor Ronald Nall. The musical program includes "Bandology Concert March," "The Impresario Overture," "Them Basses" featuring the tuba section, "Esplanade" and the musical score from "Jesus Christ Superstar."

Those attending the concert are asked to bring a lawn chair.
