On Nov. 23, re-enactors will dress in period clothing in downtown Cape Girardeau to commemorate the landing here of Lewis and Clark on their way to explore the West nearly 200 years ago. Some of those re-enactors will perform a skit, and Steve Schaffner will play fiddle tunes during Wednesday's Cape Girardeau Muny Band concert.

Jane Jackson, chairwoman of the Cape Girardeau Lewis & Clark Bicentennial Committee, will be the celebrity guest conductor at the concert.

The program will include "Klaxon March," "Ozark Overture," "Across the Wide Missouri," "Ol' Man River," "Original Dixieland Concerto," "Our Director March," "America the Beautiful" and "American Folk Rhapsody."

The free concert will begin at 8 p.m. at the Capaha Park Bandshell. The band is directed by Ronald Nall.

Audience members are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
