A satellite broadcast conference titled "Multimedia in Your Classroom?" will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Southeast Missouri State University.
The event will be held in the University Center Ballroom.
The conference, funded by the School of Graduate Studies and Extended Learning, and the College of Liberal Arts, is open to full- and part-time faculty and graduate students. Participants may ask questions during the conference via telephone. The conference also is being videotaped so that those unable to attend may view it at a later date.
Multimedia is a way of using the computer to combine text, sound, still images and graphics to increase the effectiveness of teaching, said Daniel Macleay, professor of foreign language. Multimedia use in foreign language, chemistry, medicine, history and biology will be demonstrated.
Interested persons can register at the door. The conference is being broadcast from the Institute for Academic Technology at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
