Southeast Missouri Showcase, now in its third year, will feature a potpourri of 34 food and beverage vendors and live entertainment by The Impressions during a gala evening planned at the Show Me Center on Southeast Missouri State University campus.

"Motown It's All Right" is the theme for the Nov. 21 Showcase, which will salute the city synonymous with the automobile Detroit, Mich. The event is hosted by the hospital's Foundation, and presented this year by Ford Groves Motor Co., one of the area's oldest automobile dealerships.

"While Southeast Showcase spotlights our area's fine food and beverage vendors as well as area businesses who assist with the event sponsorship, it also showcases the community spirit our area demonstrated toward the support of advances in health care," said J. Charles Stotz, director of development for the Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation.

Tickets for Showcase are now available by calling the Foundation office, 651-5510. A $30 ticket entitles guests to sample the food and beverage booth offerings from 6 to 9 p.m., and enjoy beverage and light snacks and musical entertainment from 6 to 11 p.m.

In line with the "Motown" theme, a grand prize a three-day, two-night trip to Detroit will be presented during the evening by AAA Travel of Cape Girardeau and the Marriott Corp.

Restaurants participating in the 1991 event include:

Broussard's Cajun Cuisine, Cedar Street/Drury Lodge, Domino's Pizza, H.R.H. Dumplin's, Marriott Food & Service Management; Pagliai's Pizza and Pasta, Pete's Pumps and Deli, Port Cape Girardeau, Robert's Restaurant, Servicemaster Food Management, Tantrums Pub and Grill, the Pasta House Company, Tric's Family Restaurant and Catering, and Victoria's/Holiday Inn.

New to Showcase this year are Mr. B's Waffles and Deli, Burger King, Jeremiah's Restaurant and Lounge, Mollie's Cafe and Bar, and Witz Restaurant.

Desserts and snacks will be available at booths sponsored by Cookies 'n Cream, Eagle Snacks, Margie's Pie and Cake Factory, My Daddy's Cheesecake, and TCBY Yogurt.

Beverage vendors include Bluff City Beer, Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Culligan Water Conditioning, David Sherman Corp., Kohlfeld Distributing Inc., Kohlfeld Beverage Co., Paramount Liquor Co., River Eagle Distributing, Ronnocco Coffee Co., and Schaefer Water Center.

Showcase guests will enjoy "Motown Sounds," by the KGMO/KAPE Sound System until 9 p.m., when The Impressions appear in person. The Impressions, famous for many hit songs, including "Gypsy Woman" and "It's All right," have sold more than 15 million record.

The 1990 Showcase raised $25,000 for patient care development at Southeast Missouri Hospital, said Carol Sparkman, co-chairman of the Foundation's special projects committee.

Assisting the Southeast Missouri Hospital Foundation, in addition to Ford Groves, are CyberTel as a general sponsor, and AmeriFirst Bank, Boatmen's Bank, Capital Bank, Exchange Bank of Cape Girardeau and Jackson, and Mercantile Bank of Cape Girardeau as entertainment sponsors.

Working with the Showcase as committee chairmen with Sparkman are Kerrye Foley, co-chairman; Ann Harrison-Brinkopf; Robert Erbacher; Nona Chapman; Mike Tenholder; Marilee Dennington; Cherie Herbst; Linda Tewis; Lois Frenz; Tricia LaFoe; Bari Neff; Claudia Williams and Stotz.
