The motorcyclist who rear-ended a pickup truck on North Kingshighway Wednesday afternoon has been issued seven citations, including driving while intoxicated, police said Thursday. Alexander Walker, 27, of Cape Girardeau was also issued summonses for striking a legally stopped vehicle, driving while revoked, failure to have a motorcycle endorsement or a driver's license, said Cape Girardeau Police Department spokesman Darin Hickey. Other citations issued were for failure to wear a helmet, driving an unlicensed vehicle and failure to maintain insurance. Walker was driving southbound on Kingshighway in the 100 block of North Kingshighway near Kidd's convenience store when he hit a truck that was stopped for a red light, Hickey said. Traffic had backed up following the lunch hour when the accident occurred, he said. Walker suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, Hickey said, for which he was treated at a hospital. The driver of the truck sustained no injuries.
