A Gordonville man died Thursday night when the motorcycle he was riding crashed on Route Z in Cape Girardeau County.

Lynn E. Lang, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene by Cape Girardeau County Coroner John Clifton. Lang's motorcycle overturned several times after running off the roadway on a curve about two miles west of Gordonville at 9 p.m. Thursday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Clifton believes Lang was wearing a helmet when he was thrown from the 2006 Harley Davidson, but his helmet likely came off from the impact of the crash. His helmet was found at the scene.

Lang owned a trucking company in Gordonville.

Arrangements for funeral services are incomplete at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
