At the woman's home at 333 Mary St. in Jackson, police found four other gunshot victims, including two deceased.
An adult man and a child were found dead in the home Monday afternoon and an adult woman and two additional children were severely wounded in what authorities are calling an apparent murder-suicide.
One child was flown to St. Louis for treatment at approximately 8 p.m., Cape Girardeau County Coroner John Clifton said.
One of the wounded children - a 16-year-old boy - underwent surgery at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Clifton said.
All of the dead and wounded in the home suffered gunshot wounds. The dead man, who is suspected of being the shooter by authorities, and the dead child, a 4-year-old girl, received single gunshot wounds to the head.
The man's wound appeared to be self-inflicted, said Jackson police chief James Humphreys.
Autopsies are scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Clifton said.
Jackson police responded to reports of the shooting at 333 Mary St. in Jackson at about 5:15 p.m. Monday evening.
At 5:38, two ambulances left the scene. Approximately five ambulances and a medical evacuation helicopter responded to the shooting.
At 5:59 p.m., Lt. Rodney Barnes with the Jackson Police Department told reporters at the scene that there were five shooting victims.
Two victims are deceased, including "a very young female juvenile and an adult male." Currently law enforcement is considering the male deceased a suspect in a murder/suicide.
The home is reportedly owned by Katherine Moshiri, according to a family member who did not give his name.
Earlier in the day, a petitioner whose name was not listed on the Missouri courts Web site Case.Net filed for an ex parte order of protection against Shahin Moshiri, 36, of the Mary Street address. Associate Circuit Judge Peter Statler issued the order and set a hearing on adult abuse for Dec. 13.
Around 6:50 p.m., police at the scene said that the suspected murder weapon was found in the home. Officials did not release details about the caliber of gun.
When they were removed from the home, the other three victims were first transported to Southeast Missouri Hospital with gunshot wounds, according to Barnes.
Unofficial sources, including family members and neighbors, have named the deceased adult male as Shahin Moshiri.
