BENTON, Mo. -- A Morley man was arrested Thursday on narcotics and weapons charges.
Christopher S. Shipman, 39, was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and four counts of unlawful use of a firearm, according to a news release from Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter.
According to Walter, deputies received a tip that Shipman was suspected to be in illegal possession of firearms. Walter said a search Wednesday yielded multiple firearms, ammunition and drug paraphernalia.
Deputies also found several precursors to methamphetamine production at the residence, as well as a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, Walter said, and various wildlife remains, which were turned over to the Missouri Department of Conservation.
More charges could be filed, the sheriff said. Bond is set at $100,000.
