JOLIET, Ill. -- Will County authorities arrested two men after finding more than 880 pounds of pure cocaine that was packaged to look like boxes of meat.
That amount of cocaine could be worth $80 to $120 million, Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow said.
Will County Judge Robert Lorz set bail Tuesday at $20 million each for Edgar Lopez, 27, of Chicago and Luis Fernandez, 24, of Joliet. They are both charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
"I've been a judge for more than 20 years, and I've never had a case where anyone was arrested where this alleged amount of drugs was involved," Lorz said in court.
