POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of Transportation is holding public transit workshops across the state in mid-January. In the Southeast region, a workshop will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce, 1111 West Pine St. The workshops provide technical assistance to communities in developing regional plans and meeting federal requirements. Public transit agencies, human service transportation providers, regional and metropolitan planning groups and the public are invited to attend. Preregistration is required. For more information, call 573-751-2523 or email Transit@modot.mo.gov. Additional workshops will be held in Joplin, Mo., and Chesterfield, Mo.
