JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Missouri's unemployment rate rose in December as the number of jobs in the state declined.
Missouri's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 5.5 percent last month, an increase of three-tenths of a percentage point from November, according to figures released Friday by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics. The national rate was 5 percent in December.
