JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Officials are investigating how war scenes were placed on Missouri's state government website.
The state Office of Administration said Thursday that images of graphic war scenes were placed on the official website -- www.mo.gov -- on Thursday. Officials say the images have been removed and that the website was taken offline for about a half-hour as an additional precaution starting at 10 a.m. The website was brought back online at 10:37 a.m.
Officials say the state's data was not accessed and that its network remained secure. The state is investigating how the images were able to be placed on the website.
