SEDALIA -- Entertaining at this year's Missouri State Fair will be country stars George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, Sawyer Brown and Little Texas, along with rockers Bad Company and Ted Nugent, and contemporary Christian performer Larnelle Harris.

The fair will run from Aug. 17 through 27.

The Aug. 17 concert by Strait already is sold out, while limited seats remain for the performances by Jackson Aug. 26 and by Brooks & Dunn Aug. 19.

Sawyer Brown will perform Aug. 25 along with Perfect Stranger, while Little Texas will appear with Lari White on Aug. 24.

Bad Company and Ted Nugent will play Aug. 20.

Harris, a five-time Grammy winner, will appear at the fair on Aug. 24.

Motor sports also will be a highlight during the 11 days of the fair, including auto racing, truck and tractor pulls, a jump by motorcycle stuntman Robbie Knievel, monster trucks and a demolition derby.

From jumping mules to llamas to beef cattle, the 1995 Missouri State Fair livestock shows will showcase Missouri's animal agriculture industry.

Hundreds of horses from the Midwest will converge on the fairgrounds for the Appaloosa horse show this weekend in the Mathewson Exhibition Center. there will be more than 130 classes and $3,000 in prize money.

Rounding out the last weekend of the fair Aug. 27, the Carnival of Canines will feature Australian shepherds.

Admission to the fair is $4 for adults, $2 for children 7-12, and free for children 6 and younger. Parking is $2 and camping is $10.
