ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A state Senate candidate has filed a lawsuit arguing one of her rivals doesn't live in the district and should be removed from the ballot.

Democratic House members Robin Wright-Jones and Connie Johnson are among those seeking an open Senate seat representing part of the city of St. Louis.

Missouri law requires candidates live in their districts for at least a year before the election.

Wright-Jones told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch she sued because "my silence would make me an accomplice to the sham."

Johnson has been staying with her mother in a home outside her current House district and the Senate district she seeks to represent. A lawyer representing her says Johnson has "never changed her domicile" from that listed on election papers.
