ELLINGTON, Mo. -- A 66-year-old eastern Missouri woman who had been reported missing is hospitalized with moderate injuries after being found in a wrecked car.

The Daily Journal newspaper in Park Hills, Missouri, reported that Dorothy Brooks of Ellington went missing Wednesday evening, prompting the Missouri State Highway Patrol to issue an endangered person advisory.

On Thursday, a deputy found Brooks' wrecked car some distance from a rural road in Reynolds County. It had struck a tree.

Brooks had been last seen Wednesday afternoon in Carter County. Relatives became concerned when she did not return home.

Brooks was airlifted to a hospital in Cape Girardeau.
