A 48-year-old man was pronounced dead early Monday after a vehicle crash near Millersville.

The accident occurred at 2:40 a.m., when James W. Koehler, 48, of Millersville was traveling west on County Road 350, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

He struck a utility pole after running off the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

An officer from theHighway Patrol said the vehicle veered off the road at a curve and turned on its side after striking the utility pole.

Koehler was not wearing his seat belt, according to an online accident report.
