John Reed, left, and Dave Hutson, right, gather with members of the SEMO Military Vehicles Group, including Gary Tyler, background left, and Mike Morgan, on Sunday in downtown Cape Girardeau. The pair will embark July 29 on a trip to travel the Alaska Highway in Hutson's 1951 Willys M38 U.S. Army jeep. They will join a convoy of about 80 military vehicles for the 4,100-mile trip that begins Aug. 4 from Dawson Creek, British Columbia, to Fairbanks, Alaska. The trip commemorates the 70th anniversary of the road.
