Local servicemen graduate from training
- Air Force Airman Jordan K. Melvin graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Melvin is the son of Joseph Melvin of Jackson and is a 2004 graduate of Jackson High School.

* Army National Guard Pvt. John D. Livingston graduated from the Utilities Equipment Repairer Advanced Individual Training course at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, Md. Livingston is the nephew of Joe L. and Judy Livingston of Chaffee, Mo. He is a 1998 graduate of Thomas W. Kelly High School at Benton, Mo.
