Welter arrives at South Korean Air Force base

Air Force Maj. Douglas M. Welter has arrived for duty at Osan Air Base, South Korea. Welter, a security forces operations officer, is assigned to the 51st Fighter Wing. He has 13 years of military service. He is the son of Franklin D. and Linda L. Welter of County Road 211, Chaffee, Mo. His wife, Rebecca, is the daughter of David O. Semsrott of Briar Valley Court, St. Louis. Welter graduated in 1989 from Notre Dame High School in Cape Girardeau and received a bachelor's degree in 1993 from Southeast Missouri State University.

Baker completes Army training course

Army Pfc. Kevin J. Baker has graduated from the Power-Generation Equipment Repairer Advanced Individual Training course at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, Md. Baker is the son of Kathleen and stepson of Jim E. Williams of Chaffee, Mo. He is a 2005 graduate of Chaffee High School.
