Third generation to enlist with 1140th Engineers

Lee E. Smith enlisted in the Army National Guard 1140th Engineers, Cape Girardeau, on Feb. 26. He is the son of Michael D. and Elizabeth S. Smith of Cape Girardeau and is a senior at Central High School in Cape Girardeau.

Smith will be leaving to attend basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in September. He is the third generation in his family to enlist with the Army National Guard 1140th Engineers.
