Seaman completes Navy basic training
Navy Seaman Recruit George A. Wallace, a 2003 graduate of Charleston High School, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. During the eight-week program, Wallace completed a variety of training with an emphasis placed on physical fitness.
Local Marines assigned to work in Iraq
Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Brandy L. Guerrero, Marine Corps Lance Cpl. David L. Willis and Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Thomas J. Foote, along with more than 2,100 Marines and sailors assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, recently conducted operations in Najaf, Iraq, while stationed at Forward Operating Base Hotel, Iraq. Guerrero is the daughter of Kathleen Allen of Perryville. She is a 2002 graduate of Perryville High School who joined the Marine Corps in September 2002. Willis, the husband of Jarin Willis, is the son-in-law of Becky and Ivan Robison of Sikeston, Mo. Foote, son of Linda F. Brown of Sikeston, is a 1998 graduate of Sikeston Senior High School who joined the Marine Corps in October 2001.
