Perryville man served as cook on USS Ford

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class John R. McDaniel was among the more than 200 sailors aboard the guided missile frigate USS Ford that provided escort for various U.S. military and cargo vessels through the Malacca Straits of Indonesia during Operation Enduring Freedom. McDaniel of Perryville, Mo., was a cook on the USS Ford.

Cape man participates in Caribbean exercise

Seaman Samuel K. Renfrow has participated in the Caribbean phase of Unitas, an annual Navy exercise. Renfrow, son of Kevin Renfrow of Cape Girardeau, serves aboard the guided missile frigate USS Doyle. Renfrow is an electronics technician aboard the Doyle.

Marine reports for duty in aviation in Arizona

Marine Lance Cpl. Michael A. Sanders has reported for duty with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 13, Marine Air Group 13, 3rd Marine Air Wing at Yuma, Ariz.

Sanders was a 1999 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School at Anna, Ill.
