Airman graduates from basic training

Air Force Airman Ricardo Garcia Jr. graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Garcia is the son of Lindell and Carmen Hodge of Jackson. The airman is a 2006 graduate of Jackson High School.

Private completes training at Fort Sill

Army Pvt. Toby J. Simpson graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla. He is the son of Eugene R. and Cheryl L. Simpson of Cape Girardeau. He is a 2002 graduate of Central High School.
