Marine Cpl. James A. Huskey of Jackson and more than 2,100 Marines and sailors assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit recently joined the 15,000-service-member sweep of Fallujah, Iraq. Members of Huskey's unit have conducted more than 120 patrols, 13 platoon-reinforced raids and a company-reinforced search of the city of Kandari. Most importantly, they ensured that the Marine division did not have to worry about its rear supply routes and communications during the fight at Fallujah. Huskey, a 2001 graduate of Jackson High School, is the husband of Amy Jo (Beard) Huskey and father of 2-year-old Madisyn Paige. He is the son-in-law of Buck and Kathy Beard. Huskey is scheduled to arrive back in the United States in the next few months. He has served two tours in Iraq.
Marine Corps Lance Cpl. David K. Dennis, son of Gabriele Dennis of Patton, Mo., and Brian K. Dennis of Caruthersville, Mo., recently was promoted to his current rank while serving at Marine Corps Recruiting Command, Quantico, Va. Dennis was promoted based on sustained superior job performance and proficiency in his designated specialty. He is a 2001 graduate of Cooter High School in Cooter, Mo., and joined the Marine Corps in September 2003.
