Cape grad named defense counsel in D.C. area

Capt. Gabe Hinkebein has been assigned as the trial defense counsel for the Military District of Washington. The Fort Myer, Va., post provides legal support for all Washington, D.C., Army installations, including the Pentagon. Hinkebein is the son of Tom and Laura Hinkebein of Cape Girardeau. He is a 1993 graduate of Central High School, a 1997 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and a 2000 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.

Logistics consultant posted to Afghanistan

Maj. William C. Dahms reached his post in Afghanistan this past April. He is the son of Virginia Dahms of the Cape Girardeau-Scott City area and the late 1st Lt. Charles J. Dahms. Dahms is a logistics consultant officer at the divisional level with the 25th Infantry Division from Hawaii. Dahms has a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin. His wife and six children will remain in Hawaii until his retirement in 2005.
