Michelle Mann, a May 1992 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University's nursing department, is a recipient of the "Spirit of Nursing" award from the Army Nurse Corps (ANC).

She was chosen as the outstanding undergrad~uate from Southeast's nursing program who best exemplifies the "Spirit of Nursing." She will also be Southeast's representative when the Army Nurse Corps selects a national winner in the spring.

The award, sponsored by the ANC in cooperation with the National Student Nurses' Association, recognizes academic achievement and stresses the importance of quality care. Selection criteria include: involvement in community activities, membership in professional organizations, leadership experience and academic achievement.

Mann is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the honor society of nursing, and has been an active member and officer of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority at Southeast.

She is employed as a nurse in Southeast Missouri Hospital's neonatal intensive care unit.

She is a 1988 graduate of Steeleville (Ill.) High School and is the daughter of Charles and the late Janice Mann of Murphysboro, Ill.
