Heather Brown, Jeramy Hamilton, Marcus Hughes, Christina Lance, Valencia Marshall and Dimonah Sims, all freshmen at Meridian High School in Mounds, Ill., will participate in the Southern Illinois University-Carbondale Medprep program July 10-Aug. 16.
Medprep participants are selected on the basis of an application, three recommendation letters, a contract of commitment and a written statement of why they want to participate in the Health-Science Enrichment Program."
The program provides an opportunity for 30 high school students who live in rural areas to explore health careers. The students will also have an opportunity to live free of charge on campus.
The alternate Medprep students from Meridian for the program are Eric Reed and Arrianne Smith.
