BENTON. Mo. -- According to Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter, two area merchants have recently shown support to the department with donations of a 2007 four-wheel-drive four-wheeler and a trailer.
The four-wheeler, valued at $6,899, was donated by Minor Harley Davidson, off Nash Road in Scott City.
The trailer, valued at $800, was donated by Trailer Express, on David Lane in Minor, Mo.
Walter said, "This was equipment that we would not be able to just go out and buy, but that will help us in our work, such as the search we conducted a couple weeks ago, where we were out all night looking for a 13-year-old, who showed up the next day. We fund our search and rescue function with time, equipment and a dog provided by active and reserve members, and this kind of gift really is a great assist."
