A discussion about the Common Core standards in Missouri public schools will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in room 2A at the Osage Centre, 1625 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau.
The discussion will be presented by Stacy Shore and the Concerned Women for America of Missouri and will outline the Common Core standards and their effect on families, communities and the state.
The standards are a set of expectations adopted by more than 45 states that will replace the Missouri grade and course level expectations for English/language arts and mathematics for kindergarten through 12th grade statewide by the fall of 2014.
