A new Cape Girardeau company wants area physicians to stop their "paper chase."
"We eliminate rejected, late and inaccurate insurance billing," say the owners of Medi-Comp Data Service Inc., which offers patient billing and insurance processing for physicians, dentists, chiropractors and other health-care providers.
Owners of the business are DeRhonda and Lisa Schlosser.
"We file claims electronically, reducing average payment time from months to as little as 14 days," said DeRhonda Schlosser. "We can have an answer of rejection or acceptance of a claim for a physician in a matter of minutes."
Medi-Comp Data Services Inc. takes patient bills and transmits them via computer to third-party payers like Blue Cross-Blue Shield, Medicare, Medicaid, Champus and commercial insurance companies.
"Cutting out the paper involved in mailing claim forms and waiting for a reply can reduce in-office processing expenses by 60 percent and reduce errors and claim suspensions by 30 percent," said Schlosser.
There are other benefits, said Schlosser. "It frees personnel to work on other office tasks, eliminates the chance of mechanical errors on claims, and insures usage of standard coding; and practitioners can work with all type of carriers in all states without delays and poor edits.
"The software package we use enables us to perform a wider variety of services in a much more efficient manner," said Schlosser. "What we can offer physicians in this area will not only save them time and money, but will enable them to provide good service in an area not normally associated with insurance practices patient satisfaction."
