Despite the extra responsibilities assumed by the Salvation Army during the recent flooding, it has still made arrangements to have its monthly Meals With Friends program next week.
Meals will be served from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Salvation Army building, at 701 Good Hope.
The menu is as follows:
Monday Open-faced turkey sandwiches, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a fruit cup;
Tuesday Ham and beans, cole slaw, cornbread, jello;
Wednesday Goulash, tossed salad with dressing, corn, cake;
Thursday Chicken and rice casserole, peas and carrots, sliced tomatoes, watermelon;
Friday Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, apple salad, pudding.
Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a hot, nutritious meal in a cool, friendly atmosphere at no cost.
The Salvation Army is looking for donations of fresh produce to be used in their meals program. Items can be brought to the Salvation Army building at 701 Good Hope or donor can call the office for pickup at 335-7000.
